    Submitting MLST data

§ All users of the EcMLST system are encouraged to submit new allele sequences and new allele combinations.

§ For new alleles: Please email the chromatograms (preferably both forward and reverse sequencing reaction) for any new alleles to the EcMLST database curator (stec@cvm.msu.edu). The curator will confirm the sequence, provide you with an allele designation, and register the new allele in the database.

§ For new allele combinations: Please email new allele combinations to the EcMLST database curator (stec@cvm.msu.edu). The curator will confirm that the allele combination is new, provide you with an MLST sequence type (ST) designation, and register the new sequence type in the database.

§ For all submissions, we require the name of the strain that was sequenced and the submitter's contact information (name, affiliation, email, and phone). We also encourage you to provide additional information about the strains, including E. coli pathotype (EHEC, EPEC, ETEC, Shigella, etc.), serotype, isolation year, host, host's clinical symptoms, country of isolation, and other relevant information.
